China's National Development and Reform Commission officially prohibited Meta's acquisition of Manus AI, the agentic AI startup founded in Wuhan that relocated to Singapore before Meta bought it in December. Beijing says the deal violated export control laws, and the move represents China's most aggressive action yet to prevent AI talent and technology from flowing to the US.
