Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics 2 Gives a Humanoid One Brain for Legs, Torso, Arms and Fingers
Google DeepMind unveiled Gemini Robotics 2, its first model to control an entire humanoid, legs, torso, arms and multi-finger hands, under a single learned policy, demonstrated on Apptronik's Apollo 2 robot walking, crouching and placing objects on command. Earlier robotics models mostly handled tabletop arm movements; this one reasons through a full-body task in real time from a single spoken instruction. It ships as three models, including an embodied-reasoning version that coordinates multiple robots and an on-device version that runs locally, pushing general-purpose humanoids meaningfully closer to something useful.
